Description The Mamores Lodge in Kinlochleven has been derelict for a number of years but is in a prime location for summer and winter sports. The local area is in need of employment and economic development. This project considers the retrofit of the Lodge to advanced sustainability standards such as Passivhaus, BREEAM etc in the context of the local renewable energy and resource potentials. Building modelling and modelling of energy demands will be carried out. Renewable energy systems, energy storage, and energy conversion technologies will also be modelled. Various options and scenarios will be considered and a design proposal put forward and discussed. Key Objectives 0. Establish sustainability criteria to be used to assess building and system sustainability performance and identify benchmark buildings to be used as reference points for state of the art. 1. Establish a base model of the current building and energy demands with projected future occupancy. 2. Establish building fabric retrofit options to be considered, justify and model a future scenario. 3. Establish suply and conversion system options to be considered, justify and model a future scenario. 4. Consider uncertainties and robustness of your solution.
