Description The goal of the project is to integrate elements of Life Cycle Sustainability Assessment  (LCSA) in the design of complex engineering systems. The project will start from the existing work done in the Aerospace Centre of Excellence on the LCSA of space systems, will use the existing tools for LCSA and will explore develop an integrated tool that allows one to optimise a complex system for performance and sustainability at the same time. The project will include elements of Machine Learning to allow the automatic classification of optimal design solutions and the support to designer to identify sustainable solutions starting from obejctives and requirements. Key Objectives The key objectives are: 1- Integrate the current LCSA tools with the tools for systems engineering and system optimisation under development in ACE  2- Define and perform an integrated optimisation for performance and sustainability of selected engineering systems, where a sustainability measure is computed with the LCSA tool 3- Define and implement a ML algorithm that can learn optimal green solutions and provide advise on eco-design  4- Apply these developments to the selected cases of space systems
