Description This project will develop and validate a model to calculate the thermal enviroment inside a vehicle's cabin. The model will be use to access design alternatives to improve the thermal enviroment and reduce the need for air conditioning in eletric vehicles. Key Objectives
- develop a first principle model of thermal energy flow between a vehicle cabin and the outdoor enviroment. - validate the model using data reported in the literature- assess energy needs for air conditioning in warm countries- investigate design alternatives to reduce air conditioning requirements.
