Assessing the variability of the stream currents and its influence in rotor and power-train loading - SO4

Description Tidal stream variability is an issue for the development of resilient power train mechanisms. Some devices rely heavily in yaw mechanisms to face continuously the tidal flows which could also deteriorate their lifetime. This project seeks to evaluate this degradation when looking at generic horizontal axis turbines operating in real tidal stream sites.   Key Objectives
