Reda Felfel
About Me My name is Reda Felfel and I am a lecturer in Composites Sustainability in the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering. I have a multidisciplinary background in Physics, Materials Engineering and Biomaterials. My research has focussed on development of biodegradable polymer composites, sustainable polymers, nanocomposites, scaffolds, glasses and glass fibres as well as nano-coatings for range of applications. Before joining the University of Strathclyde, I worked as a research fellow and senior research fellow in advanced materials at the University of Nottingham for 8 years. I have supervised 5 PhD students, 4 final year MEng students and have significantly contributed to the management of another 3 PhD students throughout their research. I have also assisted with the supervision of 9 MSc and 13 undergraduate student projects. My Projects My projects focus on sustainability aspect of polymers and composites research. We will be working together towards overcoming the global challenges associated with plastic and composite wastes and saving our environment. This project will offer you the opportunity to gain knowledge and skills on processing and testing environmentally safe polymers and composites. These projects will involve gaining hands-on experience working in the Advanced Composites Group research laboratory alongside experts in the field of composite materials.
