Edmondo Minisci

I'm a Senior Lecturer in the Mechanical and Aerospace Department, and with the Intelligent Computational Engineering Laboratory (ICE-Lab, www.icelab.uk ). I have 20+ years of experience in the field of numerical, model based analysis and design optimisation of complex mechanical/aerospace systems/devices.

My research interest range from nature inspired multi-objective optimisation, to uncertainty treatment and multidisciplinary design optimisation under uncertainties, and from machine learning for engineering design to re-entry analysis and design for demise. I’m currently involved in projects about i) multidisciplinary design optimisation under uncertainties of aerospace transportation systems, wind turbines, and integrated renewable energy systems; ii) machine learning based techniques for data analytics, meta-modelling, and intelligent control.

This year I would like to supervise projects about:

  • the use of mechanical and aerospace devices and technologies, as well as related numerical analysis and design methods, for sustainable development, especially linked to forestry management and precision agriculture; -machine learning based techniques for data analytics, meta-modelling, and intelligent control.
