Description

This project focuses on the design and development of a sustainable roof garden on a shipping container, capable of supporting both plant growth and small animals like chickens or ducks. The student will explore the structural requirements for converting a container roof into a functional garden, considering factors such as load-bearing capacity, water drainage, insulation, and environmental conditions. The project will also involve the design of systems for waste management, irrigation, and animal housing, aiming to create an integrated and self-sustaining ecosystem.

Key Objectives

  • Assess the structural modifications needed to support a roof garden on a shipping container.

  • Design an efficient irrigation and drainage system for plant growth.

  • Develop housing solutions for small animals that integrate with the garden.

  • Evaluate the overall sustainability and environmental impact of the design.

  • Create a prototype or detailed model of the container roof garden.
